New online portfolio up!

No, I’m not dead! Since moving back to Malaysia I’ve just been a little busy. I finally updated my online portfolio with new stuff though! There’s nothing new to my live music portfolio (unfortunately) as I’ve not been to any gigs since I left London, but I’ve got some new portraits/editorial works up. The ‘epic’ Jeniferever set from their UK tour is also finally online! Yes, it took me about 6 months to get it all done… I’m ashamed of my lack of speed but I really wanted to make sure that I was selecting the right images and post-processing it just right. That said, even though it’s online now, I still wouldn’t say it’s completely perfect!

Please take a little look at what’s new and feel free to send me feedback :) I’m available for freelance work as well.

I’m alive! I’ve just been a little busy with things since moving back. I’ve not taken as many photos as I’d like to since my ‘epic’ photo trip in mid-April, but the photos from that tour should be up as soon as I finish editing the selection and putting them together. I hope to get all of this done by/before mid-July. More on that after it’s done :)

I’m horrible. I keep saying that I will update this blog soon and I never do. Truth is, I’ve been so caught up with things that I hadn’t the time to sort out blog posts. I have been active and have taken more photos and videos for TLOBF since I last posted. I have been to a few more gigs, met lots of friends to say thanks and farewell (for now) and I am leaving for a 4-day photo trip tomorrow. I’m pretty excited about that! Fingers crossed that it goes well and I don’t act like a dork.

Besides that, I’ve been busy packing. My boxes have officially left the flat on Tuesday (thank god!) so all I need to worry about now is packing my check-in and carry-on luggage for Thursday. I can’t believe it’s less than a week till I will be back in good ol’ sunny KL. It hasn’t hit me yet. I’m sure it will once I get back to the country – but oh, Dear London, I will miss you so much.

And so, my UK chapter will come to a close – but before that, bring on the last 6 days!

I started helping out with The Line Of Best Fit Sessions at the end of last year. So far it’s been pretty rad, the team is wonderful and the artists we filmed have been equally so! Embedded are sessions we did with the Concretes and Ingrid Olava.

Farewell 2010, Hello 2011

2010 was swell. At the time it didn’t seem like a lot was happening, but looking back has made me realise that that wasn’t the case. I did some assisting work, worked as a fashion intern (haha), screwed up an interview, went to and photographed some amazing gigs/festivals, brushed up on my Japanese, started learning Mandarin, and came out of my shell a little bit more; all this amongst other things. However, what really made my 2010 was meeting and reconnecting with lots of wonderful people. So thank you to everyone who has stood by me and to everyone I met this year! Without you, 2010 would have been a real downer.

2011 will be a year of change. From the end-of-April, I will be back in Malaysia, continuing to photograph and doing other projects as well. I don’t know how long I will be there for, but I’m sure things will fall into place. Leaving London will be hard, but I am also looking forward to being back in Asia.

So that’s my brief wrap up of 2010!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE I hope your 2011 will be a great one! :)

Last night, Bo Ningen played a brilliant show to mark the release of their much anticipated debut album. It was complete madness. I don’t think I have ever gained as many bruises from a gig before – but it was worth it. If you haven’t pre-ordered or bought a copy yet, don’t wait too long! Also, they’re playing at Heaven on the 24th of November – on the same bill as Factory Floor! It’s a double whammy of great live music!
